Born in Campinas (São Paulo), Brazil, music was always a part of my life, and by the time I finally started to have music lessons learning electric bass at 13, it became really clear that making music is what I was supposed to do with my life.
Right after the electric bass I started having guitar lessons. At 15 I got my first upright bass and started jazz lessons more exclusively. I then entered the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) at 17 to study Popular Music. During that period I was able to play in all sorts of ensembles experimenting a great variety of genres including jazz, Brazilian and all Latin-American musc, classical, chamber, improvised, experimental and contemporary music. I had amazing opportunities to play with great Brazilian and international artists from the jazz, gospel and pop scene like Marcos (Marquito) Cavalcante, João Alexandre, Felipe Siveira, Tiago Pinheiro, Phil DeGreg, Tom Taylor, Tom Walsh, Ted Falcon, Sandy e Zalon Thompson.
But writing and producing music was always my greatest passion. I worked for nearly 7 years as an arranger and music director at Chácara Primavera Presbiteryan Church in my home town, Campinas, scored a few documentaries and completed an online Masters Certificate Program in Orchestration for Film and TV through Berklee College of Music (Boston).
In February 2015, when pursuing graduate level courses I was offered a full scholarship to study Composition for the Screen at Columbia College Chicago and a partial scholarship to study Scoring for Film, TV and Video Games at Berklee Valencia Campus (Spain). But the real turning point in my life was being accepted to the Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television program at USC (University of Southern California), in Los Angeles. And thanks to my amazingly encouraging family, my wife's incredible support and my little daughter's adventurous spirit, LA is where we moved to in our pursuit for new and bigger chalenges. And you can know more about how this story goes here.
